In Crete, under the inspiration of a June moon, this work unfolded like nature itself—one flower leading to another, brush to paper, rhythm to rhythm. Part of my Harmonies of Nature series, it is a meditation on connection, light, and growth. I hope it offers a moment of joy, and a glimpse of nature’s quiet power.

Watercolour’s shifting character—at times fluid and surprising, at times precise—mirrors nature’s own balance of chaos and order. I hope these paintings bring joy, and a reminder of nature’s quiet power.

Artist statement:
I have been making paintings of a single bird within an abstract field in oils on canvas for several years and now also  in watercolour. The bird maybe singing or calling a warning, diving or flying. The theme of an isolated bird mirrors the disappearing biodiversity and the degradation of the natural world. The abstract background stands as a metaphor for the little bird’s changing environment.
