In Crete, I began Harmonies of Nature: a series where brush, colour, and rhythm unfolded like flowers themselves, one form leading to the next. Watercolour’s shifting character—at times fluid and surprising, at times precise—mirrors nature’s own balance of chaos and order. I hope these paintings bring joy, and a reminder of nature’s quiet power.

I have been making paintings of a single bird within an abstract field in oils on canvas for several years and now also in watercolour. The bird maybe singing or calling a warning, diving or flying. The theme of an isolated bird mirrors the disappearing biodiversity and the degradation of the natural world. The abstract background stands as a metaphor for the little bird’s changing environment.
